I'm on the post-production team.
I am Johannes assistant.
For inside, I focused more on details, sfx and music. Giving feedback and especially seeing that everything is right.
It's quite an honour to be able to do this. Especially in a team like inside.
INTERVIEW
Role in Post-Production:
As a post-production assistant for "INSIDE - Don't Look Down", can you describe your main responsibilities and the specific tasks you performed during the post-production phase?
Working with director and editors: I had to watch the entire film and maintain continuity, check for small mistakes, make suggestions to make the scene look better. and make sure everything is right.

How did you work with the director and editors to give the film its final shape?
Were there any specific challenges or creative discussions you noticed during the
post-production process?
Challenges and solutions:
In terms of the right colour ( colour grading) it was a challenge,
everyone has their own interpretation of the project.
And that had to be fine-tuned.
Challenges and Solutions:
Post-production often brings unique challenges. Can you tell us what challenges you encountered and what strategies or solutions you implemented to address them?
Editing process: Getting the sfx to look good, for example the trap, has to look as realistic as possible. And that's where I then made suggestions.
The film has a clear visual style.
Can you discuss the editing process and the decisions you made to create a coherent
and visually engaging story? Were there any specific scenes that required extra attention
or experimentation?
Sound design and music: It was mostly a nice process of development in terms of
music and sound. It's already a pretty unique project because we are working with one actor and no text, so the sound and music had to give the scenes meaning.
And my job was to make sure that the music and sound did not overpower with the scenes.
Sound and music play a crucial role in the atmosphere of the film.
How did you contribute to the sound design and music selection? Were there specific moments when you felt the music or sound effects significantly enhanced the viewer's experience?
Collaboration with other departments:
I mainly Reviewed the movie like I was a viewer who watched it for the first time so my impressions and meanings were met.
Post-production involves coordination with different departments.
How did you work with the sound designers, composers and visual effects to ensure seamless integration of elements in the final product?
Feedback and revisions:
I received a link after each edited version where I could review the film. There, I was able to give feedback down to the second, allowing my accurate feedback to be reviewed at a millisecond and so one step closer to a great product.
Can you give an insight into the feedback and revision process during post-production?
How did the team respond to feedback and were important changes made based on creative discussions?
Managing timeline and deadlines: I always suggest what my vision is after watching the film. I review afterwards to see if anything has been done with it. Of course if there is an element in the post-procution that I do have my distinct feedback on , I do bring it up regularly. And usually something is done with it.
Managing timelines and meeting deadlines is crucial in post-production.
How did you make sure the project stayed on schedule, and were adjustments made to accommodate creative changes or unexpected challenges?
Favourite moments or contributions: I did regularly ask the editors if things worked out with the fall scene. For example, I brought in the idea of arms and legs moving during the fall. And when you see that on screen afterwards you do feel proud of what a feedback was became reality.

As a post-production assistant, do you have any favourite moments or specific contributions to the film that you are particularly proud of? Are there any scenes where your input had a
remarkable impact on the final result?
Reflection on the project: yes as mentioned earlier the fall scene is still something I am immensely proud of.

What aspects of the post-production process were most rewarding or challenging? How did this project influence your approach to future post-production work?
Atmosphere of collaboration: I am always someone who pays attention to details, so I did thank my position as an assistant so I could collaborate on this fantastic production with my insight. Can you say something about the general atmosphere of collaboration within the post-production team? How did everyone work together to achieve the film's unique vision?
Advice for aspiring post-production professionals: We all share the passion for film. And the fact that we can pull off a production with everyone is fantastic. Everyone has their qualities and that makes us unique. With this gang and their capacities, we make a tremendously beautiful production.

For people looking to work in post-production, what advice would you give based on your experience with this film? Are there any key skills or insights that you found particularly valuable? Everyone has a talent, no matter what it is. As long as you have the same spirit as the team. 1 vision 1 goal 1 product that we all deliver to the viewers. How small your contributions are it has a big impact.
